Rosy Fortuin - Nature Guide

Rosy has lived in Nourivier all her life.  She started school in Nourivier, then went to Leliefontein and finally graduated from Bergsig Senior Secondary School in 1995.  Her love of nature was always there, but it wasn’t until she was asked to guide a group of tourists that she discovered a love for guiding.  Since then her feelings have become stronger and stronger and she has qualified as a nature guide.

Rosy will start a tour in the village where a special place in her heart is the school.  The tour will then proceed through the village showing all the interesting landmarks.  Rosy will then take visitors out into the natural veld surrounding the village and show them the interesting flora and fauna of the region.  Because of the diversity of Rosy’s tour, it can be conducted at any time of the year.

Rosy has also opened a coffee shop recently. The coffee shop is situated in a traditional 'matjieshut' (reed mat hut) and she serves traditional foods like roosterkoek (bread that is baked by roasting it on the fire, translated directly it would be roasted cake) and potbrood (pot bread), accompanied by coffee or tea.  She also provides for the occasional braai (barbeque).

Please be sure to make prior arrangements with Rosy, as the coffee shop is not open at all times.
