Khanya Traditional Mats

This project started in the early 1980’s with Nothemba as the sole proprietor with a few staff. It expanded throughout the village and with other community members joining in. The project is currently making traditional mats using natural grassland vegetation. However, financial challenges have hindered growth of the project. The potential for tourism in the area is likely to revive this project through increased sales.
