Mhangy’s Rock Resort

Mhangy’s Rock Resort can accommodate up to 18 visitors in nine rondavels that are scattered around the property. Mhangy’s pride themselves on the warmth and hospitality of their staff and strive to provide excellent service. If your group is larger than what can be accommodated, they will arrange accommodation in the surrounding villages for up to 500 visitors.

The resort boasts a diverse range of artefacts from the surrounding villages and they are able to arrange for cultural dancers should you be interested. 

Attractions in the area:

  • The Nsami and Middle Letaba Dams that are rich in various types of fish;
  • The village of the witches;
  • The Tsongakraal;
  • Baleni Camp, where salt is still mined in the traditional way;
  • The Modjadji Nature Reserve;
  • Mangombe Museum and Nature Reserve;
  • The Giyani Golf Course;
  • The Ebenezer and Tzaneen dams;
  • The Debengeni waterfalls;
  • Tea plantations;
  • Traditional villages; and
  • Chief kraals.

The resort itself has a number of lapas and picnic spots with braai (barbeque) stands and garden chairs. They also have a restaurant that offers both a-la-carte and buffet menus specialising in traditional African and South African cuisine. They have a lounge bar and pool table where you can get to know the locals of the area.

The resort has one hectare set aside as a caravan park with power points, ablution blocks and braai (barbeque) facilities.
