Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre

The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre is a unique project that conducts essential research on endangered species and provides the opportunity to view animals that have found a home here in their natural surroundings. The tours it offers are not only an entertaining educational experience for the whole family, but also emphasize the increasingly important role that the public and private sector has to play in the conservation of South Africa’s wildlife.

Tours are conducted daily beginning at 08h00 and thereafter departing at hourly intervals with the last tour of the day at 15h00. The two-hour tour, which begins with a video presentation, allows visitors the opportunity to view Cheetah, African Wild dog, Ground Hornbills and many other endangered species in their natural habitat.

There is also a Hoedspruit Safari Park, which farms part of the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. The Safari Tented Camp forms part of the park’s accommodation. Four luxury tents are each equipped with two beds, bedding, a cooler box and necessary amenities.

There is also a lovely Curio Shop worth visiting, containing interesting things made by extremely creative people.
