Ubuhle Besintu

Ubuhle besintu is a Pondo word, which falls under the Nguni language, meaning “the beauty of culture or tradition”.

Ubuhle Besintu is a project that strives to keep the beauty and appeal of the Pondo tribe. Tomokazi, the project leader, is herself a designer, and she designs unique Pondo garments decorated with beadwork. This is very important because such garments help to preserve the Pondo culture while at the same time reminding whoever is wearing the clothes about the culture of the Pondo Tribe.
