Slievyre Game Farm

Slievyre Game Farm is privately owned and extends to about 1 000ha (2 500 acres). All of the land is African bush, which is home to numerous species of antelope, such as kudu, impala, nyala and blesbok, as well as giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, ostrich and many smaller animals and birds. Slievyre is equally well suited to serve the needs of game hunters or visitors wishing to use it as a holiday base.
 
Accommodation is in renovated farm buildings that date back to the 1800's and afford guests comfortable lodgings in peaceful surroundings. There is a large outdoor swimming pool with an adjoining children’s pool.  The camp is situated within approximately one hectare of fenced well kept gardens and consists of five traditionally built stone and thatch chalets. The camp comfortably sleeps fourteen people and extra beds can be arranged if required. Three of the chalets are twin/double, one sleeps three people with the fifth being a five bed family chalet. All have private/en-suite bathrooms and the kitchens are equipped with all self-catering facilities. Catered options are available if you prefer, please contact us for more details.  Fresh bedding and towels are provided for every guest and the chalets are cleaned daily.

Two lapa’s adjoin the chalets, both lapa’s have tables and chairs and built-in braai fires (barbeque), they are cleaned daily and the firewood is restocked.

The farm is approximately 1000 ha and is classified as bushveld.

There are endless walking possibilities around the farm, whilst out walking animals to see include Giraffe, Kudu, Zebra, Wildebeest and numerous smaller antelope. The farm is also home to +/-200 species of birds. 

The farm has numerous dams, most of which contain fish. Guests are welcome to fish free of charge, just bring your tackle! All residential guests are welcome to join us for a game drive/sundowner. Other activities including off road motorcycling and horseback game viewing can be arranged.
