KwaHlangabeza Cultural Hub
KwaHlangabeza Cultural Hub is located on a 35 hectare small holding in a scenic valley along the Roodepoortspruit and adjacent to the new Formosa Nature Reserve at the Wagendsdrif Conservancy. KwaHlangabeza is a unique Zulu Cultural Hub that immerses guests in our indigenous lifestyle - to the extent that they dare.
The owners describe the business in their own words:
“We aim to provide a unique experience and place ourselves firmly as a third locus of gravitation between the Berg and the coast.
Estcourt has had a low profile in the tourism industry in spite of very attractive historical and cultural sites, nature reserves, ample accommodation and its location on the route between Johannesburg and Durban.
Our concept of immersing guests in Zulu culture provides a new and exciting adventure for them. This is not just another cultural village. It is a hub – a Zulu homestead that hosts, orientates, entertains and also exposes guests to real life situations in the surrounding areas of modern Zulu lifestyle.
KwaHlangabeza believes that guests should not be mere spectators of our culture; they need to experience it fully and live it for the duration of their stay at KwaHlangabeza.
We have entered into partnership with KZN Wildlife which has pledged its support to provide conservation mentorship as this hub is a Conservancy adjacent to a nature reserve.”
