All the comforts of home without the hassle of making up your bed, scrambling your own eggs or washing up is offered to you at the newly established Elmwood B&B.

Situated just 7km on the R74 road between Estcourt and Weenen, this fully secure and child friendly bed and breakfast boasts an alternative healing centre, five immaculate bedroom en-suite, a shimmering pool, lush acres of green grass for morning or afternoon walks where you're bound to spot birds and game. Set in the tranquil surroundings of a fully functional dairy farm this quiet accommodation is only 7km from the Weenen Game Reserve.

The accommodation is full catering only as we enjoy preparing the meals necessary.  Elmwood house has five bedrooms all en-suite with the fifth room consisting of its own lounge area. Inside the house there are two separate lounges with the full bouquet of DSTV channels. The enormous fireplace is the ideal place to be during cold winter’s nights with a chosen warming beverage.

The dining room can accommodate 20 guests and there is a kitchen to cater for all needs. The rooms are extremely comfortable and we also cater for the “little ones”. Cots and high chairs are available together with the necessary toys to keep them occupied. A baby sitter is available for hire.
The rooms have double or single beds depending on requirements. There is also space for sleeper couches in some of the rooms and the fifth room may be converted into a dormitory if necessary.  The décor varies from the room to room and we try to match the individuals taste to a room.  All rooms have a self service kettle with all the necessary ingredients for the early morning or late evening cuppa.

Breakfasts are the speciality with dinner and lunches provided on request. A “box lunch” for the traveller is available. Coffee, tea and cold juice is provided with all meals.

The gardens are huge and escaping to a quiet corner is possible where the evenings are full of the night sounds and a galaxy of stars.

For the adventurous there are several activities that may be booked before hand and which is our pleasure to provide.

These include:

• Bass fishing;
• Game trails;
• Horse riding; and
• Daily tours.

Incorporated in the Elmwood B&B is the “Little Flower Therapy Room”, where Isabel Schiever treats mind, body and soul with her alternative and non-invasive complementary medical practices. She offers Posture awareness, Meridian work, Tibetan energy and vitality, energy medicine, neuro innate and active systems.

Bookings are essential for this specialised treatment and a session combined with the right settings is perfect for anyone looking for tranquillity and peace of mind.

Unfortunately there is no cell phone reception in the valley and we suggest you divert all calls to the landline at the B&B. This also prevents us from having credit card payment facilities. Cheque or cash only please.
