Cedar Guesthouse and Retreat

Surrounded by the red cliffs of the Baviaanskloof and with a beautiful view down the valley, the guesthouse caters for visitors who like to nurture themselves in comfort and style.  The century old house has been beautifully renovated with a slightly earthy touch to provide a tranquil and sheltered refuge against the rugged terrain of the kloof.

The Cedars Guesthouse has four double or twin rooms, two luxurious bathrooms, a spacious lounge and kitchen, and a beautiful wraparound veranda.

Before moving to the Baviaanskloof, Jeanne ran an aromatherapy massage practice in Cape Town.  She now spoils visitors to the kloof. The in-house aromatherapy massage studio gives the option of a little extra treat during a stay.  In addition to treating the regular guests, Jeanne runs longer five-day retreats.   These beautifully nurturing retreats will help visitors relax and find time to connect to their body, mind and soul.

The retreat offers daily body therapy, ranging from aromatherapy massage, reflexology, cranio sacral therapy, deep tissue massage, and energy balancing.  The body work is combined with a healthy cleansing diet of organic food and mountain water, fresh teas made from indigenous medicinal plants harvested daily, and ample space for reflection, walks and meditation.  The retreats are restricted to a maximum of six people at any one time. Retreats can be booked individually or for a group.

Cedar Guesthouse has a range of retreat specials - "Bring a group of five or more (max six people) and receive your retreat for nothing.  In addition, we have special deals if your partner needs a break but does not want to indulge in their own massage treatments".

The farm has numerous guided and unguided hikes and trails, and serves as the base for four-day mountain biking trips into the wilderness area.  There are walks to bushmen paintings and waterfalls, as well as rugged hiking to the highest peak in the Baviaanskloof.

"Self-catering, or with delicious organic meals by prior arrangement, The Cedar Guesthouse and Retreat is a touch of class in our bit of heaven".
