In the wild expanse of the Kalahari the game farm Zoutpanputs offers the keen lover of nature many an enticing opportunity.
Zoutpanputs Game Farm offers more than 50 species of birds that should keep the keen birder busy for days. The abundant birdlife of the Kalahari can be experienced all round: in trees such as the camelthorn, grey camelthorn, sheperd's tree, black thorn and silver cluster leaf, and the grass on the dunes.
Large herd of springbuck and gemsbok (oryx) roam, often seen running or licking salt on the pans. A surprise sighting of rare creatures such as a pangolin could await the visitor over the next dune.
Getting to know the meerkat families living around the lodge is a most entertaining pastime.
At Zoutpanputs Game Farm guests are accommodated in bungalows built around a stunning old camel thorn tree at the foot of a red Kalahari dune.
