The Okakarara Community, Culture and Tourism Centre educates visitors about the Herero culture. It was inaugurated at the 100 years commemoration of the Battle of Ohamakari, a part of the early libertion struggle of Namibia's indigenous poeple. The Centre serves as a link between present and past, between visitors and residents and works towards enhacing a common future. The link is created sharing a joint history and learning from cultures and livelihoods found in and around the traditional lands of the Herero people.
Facilities at the site include a campsite, an auditorium, a kiosk and offices.
