Want to experience nature at her best?  Hornbills Forest Getaway offers the perfect retreat for a comfortable stay in natural surroundings. This facility  is situated on the banks of the Cumakala River at the edge of the forest-draped Amatola Mountains.

Facilities:

  • Trout- and bass fishing;
  • Birding;
  • Horse-riding; and
  • Walking.

The Amatola forests were subject to extensive yellowwood logging.  Fortunately, many magnificent old trees survived and specimens of these are found along the Cumakala River at Hornbills.

Many animals can be seen at this getaway, including Samango monkeys, Bushbuck, Duikers, Bush pigs, the famous Knysna Loerie and the Long-Crested Eagle.
